'The Beaver' Review

Was I wrong for thinking "The Beaver" would be edgy, provocative and deeply bizarre? It certainly seems to have the right recipe. The WTF premise elicited dwarfed versions of my reactions to the 411 on "Precious," and stars don't get more bonkers these days than Mel Gibson.

But, like a puppet with a wrinkled hand up its arse, this freaky-on-the-surface drama is essentially a lot more of the same old tired family dynamics (I can bang my head against the wall too, Anton Yelchin). But don't let me keep you from reading the more organized version of these thoughts, my "Beaver" review, now online at SouthPhillyReview.com. CLICK HERE.
